Family Letter number 1
10th April 2008

Dear Parents,

Welcome back.  I hope that you all had a restful Easter break and are all feeling ready for the Summer Term.  Year 3 and 4 Easter Production

Lots of compliments were received and everyone can be very proud of their achievement; well done. It was lovely to see so many parents at both our performances.  The children were very lucky to have such appreciative audiences.

Band Practice
There will be NO Band practice next Tuesday 15th April.  Practice will resume the following Tuesday 22nd April.

French Club

A new session of French Club will begin next week.  If your child is interested in joining please tell her/him to ask Mrs. Pamley for details.

‘B’ Team Football Tournament
Congratulations go to our ‘B’ Team footballers who took part in and won the Lichfield and District Tournament on Wednesday 19th March played at Friary Sports College.  They represented themselves and the school excellently during the afternoon and their hard work was rewarded with victory in the competition.  We would also like to thank parents who came along to support us.

Miss J. Nickolls
Please note that Mrs. J. Garratt, our Deputy Headteacher, will now be known as Miss J. Nickolls.  The class name will remain 2BG.

School Uniform from Buxton and Bonnett

Thank you to all parents who have purchased school uniform from Buxton and Bonnett.  Each year we receive commission based on the uniform you have purchased.  This year Buxton and Bonnett gave us a cheque for £370, which will be used to benefit our children.

PTA News

PTA Meeting
The next meeting is on Monday 14th April from 7:45-9:00pm, in the staff room at main school. We will be reviewing recent events and beginning to plan future social and fundraising events.  These will include a children’s disco and the Summer Fayre. All welcome.

Greenhill Bower Procession,
Monday 26th May 2008
We are interested in involving the school in the Greenhill Bower over the Spring Bank Holiday.
Do any of you have or know someone who has an 'interesting' vehicle e.g. classic car, quirky car, camper van etc which you/they would be happy to drive in the Bower procession with maybe some school children travelling inside and adult collectors walking alongside? If you have any mode of transport you think might be suitable please drop a note (for the attention of Lindsey Smith) into the PTA tray in the school office.
If you are interested in being involved with our Bower project in any way, please let us know by dropping us a note into the office or mentioning it to a member of the PTA.

St. Michael’s Primary School PTA Summer Fayre 2008
This term, preparations will begin for our annual Summer Fayre which is scheduled to take place on Saturday 28th June from 12pm-3pm.

We’re beginning to think about the kind of stalls we want to have there.

Have you got an idea for a stall?

Would you be willing to run a stall as a family or a group of friends?

Do you work for a company that would be able to offer us some sponsorship? Or provide us with a raffle prize?

Please feel free to contact us: drop a note into our PTA tray in the school office or speak to any member of the PTA committee.

Remember the money we raise is spent on equipment and resources.  Fund-raising requires a huge amount of effort, so every bit of support or sponsorship is always greatly appreciated.
If you have a particular area of interest or a talent to offer, or if you would simply like to lend a hand, please don’t be shy!  We need your input and contributions.

Yours faithfully,

Miss H. McKay
Headteacher.
