Family Letter number 2
17th January 2008
Dear Parents,
Year 6 at Shugborough
The children seem to have had a wonderful week at Shugborough. Every year we are congratulated on their behaviour. The children all pulled together as a team and Mrs. Moseley, Mr. Freeman, Mrs. Strachan, and Mr. Hardwick and were really impressed by the way they cared for and supported one another. Our Year 6 children have been excellent ambassadors for the school and a year group that we can really be proud of.

Easter Performances – Year 3 and 4We are very much looking forward to our Year 3 and 4 Easter Performances. As a school we have felt for some time that we do not make enough of Easter here in school. The Year 3 and 4 teachers are keen to lead the way in this. Mrs. Marsden will be working with the children this term to prepare for the performances. These will be on:
Wednesday 12th March in the afternoon
Friday 14th March in the morning.
We do hope that Year 3 and 4 parents will be able to join us. Further information will follow closer to the time.
Please keep sending any empty ink cartridges from all printers – if you have any at home please bring them into school – there is a collection box in the foyer. We will raise extra funds from this great new idea and help the environment at the same time!

PTA Meetings
Thanks to everyone who attended Monday’s PTA meeting. As a committee it is important for us to listen to everyone’s ideas and suggestions. Please keep these flowing!
The next meeting will be on Monday 4th February, to discuss preparations for the ladies pamper night on the 27th Feb. A meeting on Thursday 6th March will discuss preparations for our family event ‘Chocolate bingo’ on the 14th March.
Ladies Pamper Night
We are holding our first ‘Ladies Pamper Night’ fundraiser on Wednesday 27th February at Boley Park Community Hall from 8-10pm. As part of the evenings events we would like to offer a range of mini-beauty treatments e.g. Reflexology, Indian head massage, Mini-Manicure, Mini-pedicure, Reiki, massage, Colour-analysis etc.
Are you a beauty therapist yourself? Or do you know of anyone who would be willing to give up a couple of hours of their time to provide their services for free to support this fundraising event? As a thank you we would be more than happy for the therapist(s) to hand out leaflets/ business cards to advertise their services.
If interested please contact a member of the PTA or drop a note with contact details into the PTA tray, in the school office.
PTA Children’s Disco Organiser Required No previous experience necessary, just a little time. Full training and support from the PTA will be given. The PTA usually organises 3 Children’s discos per year. The role entails photocopying a letter to children. Liaising with disco man/PTA/School/helpers. If you’re interested or need further information please contact a PTA member or leave a note for us in our PTA tray in the school office. |
Lichfield Greenhill Bower School Float
This year we are looking into the possibility of St Michaels entering a float in the Bower procession. If any parents are interested in getting involved with this project in any way at all then please let us know. If you have ideas, creative abilities or just enthusiasm your help would be greatly appreciated.
At this early stage the one thing we really need is a lorry to decorate and transport us around the route. If anybody has any contacts in this area please contact the PTA as soon as possible. Drop a note with your contact details for the attention of Lindsey Smith into the PTA tray in the school office. Looking forward to hearing from you.
