Collections for Farm-Africa
We would like to thank all parents and grandparents who contributed towards our collections for the charity ‘Farm-Africa’. We sent off a cheque for £622 to enable chickens to be bought for farmers in Africa.
Half Term Holiday Reminder
School closes at the normal time on Friday 8th February and reopens on Monday 18th February.
Theatre in School
On Monday we had a visit from M & M Theatre. Entertaining us with a production of ‘Robin Hood’, which was enjoyed by all the children. We would like to thank the P.T.A. for funding this event.
Mr. Tony Allport – Crossing Warden
On Friday we heard the sad news that Tony had died the previous day. Our thoughts go to his sister at this sad time. We will have our own time of reflection in school in memory of Tony at some point over the next few weeks.
Friday 25th January 2008 – Class 2BG Worship – 9.15 a.m.
Parents/Grandparents of children in Class 2BG are invited to join us tomorrow for their Class Worship.
Mrs. Rebecca Jones – Maternity Leave.
Our best wishes go to Mrs. Jones who left school yesterday to begin her Maternity Leave. We welcome to our staff Mrs. M. Jennings, who will be covering Mrs. Jones’ duties during this time.
Family Praise Education Sunday – February 10th -10.00 a.m. in St. Michael’s Church
We hope you can be in church for this annual event where the world of education is celebrated. As in previous years some of our children will be taking part.

STOP PRESS! ‘Pampering is on hold’, to make way for an evening of ‘fun and fashion with friends!’ …
As you may be aware, we are holding our first ‘Ladies Night’ fundraiser in February. Thanks to everyone who offered their services to provide pampering, but due to a lack of space we will have to incorporate this into a future event. Our main attraction needs a lot of space and we are pleased to announce that
St. Michael’s PTA are hosting a
Ladies Fashion Show and Clothes Sale
(top ex-chain stores from major high street stores at huge reductions).
Wednesday 27th February, from 8pm -10pm, at Boley Park Community Hall
As well as being a great night out, it should provide an opportunity to purchase new ex-chain store ladies clothes from major high street stores at huge reductions. Also all the ‘models’ in the fashion show will be familiar faces, as they will be St. Michael’s mums!
A separate letter will contain furthers details and a slip for advance ticket sales.
Lichfield Greenhill Bower School Float
This year we are looking into the possibility of St Michaels entering a float in the Bower procession. If any parents are interested in getting involved with this project in any way at all then please let us know. If you have ideas, creative abilities or just enthusiasm your help would be greatly appreciated.
At this early stage the one thing we really need is a lorry to decorate and transport us around the route. If anybody has any contacts in this area please contact the PTA as soon as possible. Drop a note with your contact details for the attention of Lindsey Smith into the PTA tray in the school office. Looking forward to hearing from you.
