Family Letter number 9
Autumn Term, 6th November 2008
Dear Parents,
Poppy Day
Poppies are now on sale in school. If you wish your child to contribute to this collection donations will be most welcome.
Operation Christmas Child
Working in partnership with Lichfield Methodist Church we are collecting shoeboxes, gifts, or money for Operation Christmas Child. If you feel you can contribute in some way please send your donations to us by 3.30 p.m. on Friday 14th November. Please label boxes to indicate which age group and whether the gift is suitable for a boy or girl.
I do hope that you feel that you can help to make Christmas a little happier for children less fortunate than our own.
Non-Uniform Day – Friday 14th November
Further details regarding donations towards the Christmas Fayre will follow. Just a reminder to ask you to support this P.T.A. organised event.
Pantomime at the Garrick
If you have not yet returned your slip with contribution of £8 please do so.
Annual Sponsored EventsThe annual sponsored events are with us again. The money raised helps to supplement the ‘extras’ we like to give to the children. We thank you for your support.
French Club
If your child takes part in our French Club and you have not already paid fees for this term please do so now.
5H Class Worship
We look forward to seeing Parents, Grandparents and Carers of children in Class 5H at our Worship tomorrow at 2.30 p.m.
Christmas Puddings
We are once again selling these delicious Christmas puddings so please get your orders into school as soon as possible – remember they make great Christmas gifts.
The Puddings come in two sizes:
the 1lb. Pudding (serves 4 approx.) cost £6
the 2lb. Pudding (serves 8 approx.) cost £8
Mobile Telephones
Children are not permitted to have mobile telephones with them in school. If a child is found to have a mobile telephone on them, for security purposes it will be placed in the school safe at main school. Parents may then collect it from Main School during office hours.
Used Stamps
We are still collecting used postage stamps for St. Giles Hospice. Please send any used stamps into the school office.
Recycled Printer Ink Cartridges
We are still collecting any empty ink cartridges from all printers – if you have any at home please bring them into school.
Harvest Festival
We have had many letters of appreciation from those receiving our Harvest Gifts. Once again thank you for your donations. The collection in church raised over £215. A huge “Thank you” too to the parents who kindly came to parcel up the gifts and to the District Nurses at Greenhill Health Centre and Langton Grange Health Centre who distributed the parcels to patients in our community.
Football and Netball
On Wednesday 22nd October the school was represented excellently by two football teams and a netball team in games against Chadsmead Primary School. Congratulations to all who took part and a big thank you to all of our supporters.
4H Class Worship
Please note that Mr. Halliday’s class worship will now take place in the Spring Term.
Children in Need fund raiser – Friday 14th November
To help raise money for this worthy cause, a ‘Penny Trail’ will be taking place on Friday 14th November. We realise that there are other events taking place in the coming week but any token gestures would be greatly appreciated. Please could children bring in any pennies on the day. Thank you for your support.
