Family Letter number 1
Spring Term, 8th January 2009
Dear Parents,
Happy New Year! I hope that everyone had an enjoyable festive season.
WelcomeWe are pleased to welcome Mrs. Church to the staff. She has joined us as our new Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator.
What to do if you have any concernsFrom time to time issues arise which can cause you concern. In the first instance please talk to your child’s class teacher. They will do everything to assist you. If you feel that the situation has not been resolved please contact the phase leader (senior teacher) for your child. They can be contacted via the main school office.
They are:
| Nursery and Reception | Mrs. Elcock |
| Years 1 and 2 | Mrs. Strachan |
| Years 3 and 4 | Mrs. Brittain |
| Years 5 and 6 | Mrs. Moseley |
If you have further concerns please contact me at Main School.
Miss Nickolls is now based at the Annexe and will be the contact for Years 5 and 6. Very often concerns can be easily resolved at an early stage through a conversation with your child’s teacher.
We do have a complaints procedure in school. Should you ever feel that a situation needs further investigation a copy is available from the main school office.
Fair Processing Notice
Accompanying this letter is a copy of the Local Authority’s Fair Processing Notice which outlines the information that we hold regarding your child in school and the agencies information is provided to. A more detailed version is available on our website or as a paper version from the school office.
Parents EveningsA list of events for this term will be available soon but we thought you would appreciate advance notice of this term’s parent consultation evenings.
They will be:
Wednesday 4th February 3.30 – 6.30 p.m.
Thursday 5th February 3.30 – 6.30 p.m.
We are very much looking forward to our Year 3 and 4 Easter Performances. As a school we have felt for some time that we do not make enough of Easter here in school. The Year 3 and 4 teachers were keen to lead the way in this. Mrs. Marsden will be working with the children this term to prepare for the performances. These will be on: Wednesday 25th March at 2.00 p.m.
Friday 27th March at 9.30 a.m.
We do hope that Year 3 and 4 parents will be able to join us. Further information will follow closer to the time.
Vacancy for a Parent Governor
A letter will be circulated next week inviting nominations for a new parent governor. If you would like to know anything about the role of a governor Dave Piggott, our Chair of Governors would be more than happy to talk to you. He can be contacted via the main school office. Alternatively one of our existing parent governors may be of help: Nik Ellis, Mark Hargate, Janine Pearce, Rachel Poulton or Viv Wyss.
Children in Year 6 are spending this week at Shugborough Outdoor Education Centre. Miss McKay joined them for an afternoon and evening and the news is that everyone is enjoying this experience.
Recycled Printer Ink Cartridges
Please keep sending any empty ink cartridges from all printers – if you have any at home please bring them into school – there is a collection box in the foyer. We will raise extra funds from this great new idea and help the environment at the same time!
