Family Letter number 7
Spring Term, 26th February 2009

Dear Parents,

Parents’ Evening – Thursday 26th February 2009
Our rescheduled parents’ evening is this evening, Thursday 26th February.  Appointment times will be those originally arranged for Thursday 5th February.  We look forward to meeting parents who have their parent teacher meeting tonight.

Visit in school from ‘The Animal Man’.
On Tuesday 24th the children experienced seeing an assortment of animals and had a talk from a member of the Natural History Lecture Service.  This is always a popular event on our school calendar which the children enjoyed immensely.  We would like to thank the P.T.A. for funding this event.

Tesco for Schools Vouchers
From March 2nd we will be collecting vouchers from the ‘Tesco for Schools and Clubs Scheme’, which enables schools to order computer, sport, creativity and ‘Green’ schools equipment,
As we are aware, Tesco in Lichfield is closed for refurbishment, so the amount of vouchers collected may be reduced significantly.  With this in mind any vouchers that are collected this year will be banked within the scheme and redeemed next year.
We appreciate your continued support in collecting vouchers where possible.

Bishop of Lichfield’s Lent Appeal 2009
This is our chosen charity for Lent this year.  All money collected at the Easter performances will be donated to the Lent Appeal, which helps the elderly locally and overseas.  Your continued support is much appreciated.

Red Nose Day, Friday 13th March 2009
“Do something funny to raise money”.
To raise money for this worthy cause and to have some fun at the same time, we have decided to “wear something funny to raise money!”

On Friday 13th March, we will be having a fancy dress day!  So, in return for a small donation, children can wear a funny item of clothing, such as odd socks or an unusual hat!  Thank you for your continued support.

Governor Election
A reminder that the closing date and time for the Governor Election is tomorrow, Friday 27th March at 9.30 a.m.  Please return your voting slip if you have not already done so.

Hockey Practice
Thank you to all those children from Years 3 and 4 who have volunteered to come to the above after school club.  It was great to see so many of you there at the first session enthusiastically taking part.  Sadly, this extra curricular club has reached maximum capacity and therefore we are not able to take any more children in these sessions.
