Dear Parents,
Holiday Dates and School used for election purposes.
Half term dates are Monday 25th until Friday 29th May. Monday, May 4th, is Bank Holiday and school (both sites) will be used as a Polling Station on Thursday June 4th, school will be closed to pupils on both days.
Class Photographs – Reception and Year 6
Reception Classes and Year 6 will be having group photographs taken on Monday 27th April 2009.
Bringing Children to the Annexe before school
Please consider other road users when you bring your child to school and do not park your vehicle in a position that will block the cul-de-sac leading to the Annexe building or the gateway to the Annexe itself. Access to the school site it required at all times should we require any emergency vehicles.
St. Michael’s Church Hall
St. Michael’s Church Hall is available for hire for children’s parties and similar events. The basic charge is £11 per hour. If you are interested to follow this up, or just to see what facilities are available please contact the St. Michael’s Parish Office on 01543 262211 between 9.30 a.m. and 12.30 p.m. Monday to Friday.
Musical Instrument Demonstration Evening
– Wednesday 6th May – 6.00 p.m.
A reminder that a musical instrument demonstration evening has been arranged for Wednesday May 6th at 6.00 p.m. This is an opportunity for those children interested in playing a musical instrument from next September to come along with their parents and see what is on offer. Children are eligible to play a variety of instruments from Year 4 e.g. violins, cello, flute, clarinet, trumpet, trombone and guitar.
The evening will begin with an introduction by Mrs. Christine Henderson from the County Music Department, followed by our peripatetic music staff with short demonstrations given by children already playing instruments. Our School Band will also be performing.

If you have not already done so please return your slip if you wish to attend this demonstration.
M & M Theatre Company – Pinocchio
On Friday May 1st we have a visit from M & M Theatre Company. They will entertain us with a production of ‘Pinocchio’. We are sure all of our children will enjoy this performance.
Vacancy for a Parent Governor
A letter has been circulated inviting nominations for a new parent governor. If you would like to know anything about the role of a governor Dave Piggott, our Chair of Governors would be more than happy to talk to you. He can be contacted via the main school office. Alternatively one of our existing parent governors may be of help: Nik Ellis, Jenny Bryant, Janine Pearce, Rachel Poulton, Viv Wyss.
Cost Increase for Sports Water Bottles
The sports water bottles we have in school for sale to pupils are now £1.30 each.

Have you got a fundraising idea? Why not share it with us. Our next meeting is on Monday 27th April in the Main School staff room from 7:45-9pm. Our meetings are fairly informal and we would love to hear from you. We usually review recent fundraising events and make preparations for future events.
Adults 80’s Disco Saturday 9th May
We are holding an 80’s Disco (over 18’s only) on Saturday 9th May, 8:30-11:30pm at Boley Park Community Hall. We will be running a licensed bar on the evening. Fancy dress is optional. (80’s fashion, film, T.V. and pop stars. There is plenty of scope. Essentially anything from the 80’s! ) There will be prizes for the best male/female. Tickets are priced £5. Make a note of the date in your diaries, and book your babysitters! A separate letter has been distributed, but the ticket ordering slip is duplicated below. Please return any slips with payment in an envelope, to the school office for the attention of the PTA.
