Family Letter number 6
21 February 2008
Visit in school from ‘The Animal Lady’.
On Tuesday the children all experienced seeing an assortment of animals and a talk from a member of the Natural History Lecture Service. This is always a popular event on our school calendar. We would like to thank the P.T.A. for funding this activity.
We look forward to parents/carers of children in Class 1W joining us for this event.
‘Fairtrade Fortnight’ - from 24th February until 9th March 2008
To support ‘Fairtrade Fortnight’, which will be from 24th February until 9th March 2008, and working in conjunction with Mrs. Rita Athersmith, one of our School Governors, we shall be selling the following products at the Annexe:
Traidcraft Geobars - 30p each
Traidcraft Tropical Fruit Mix - 60p each.
These will be available during break times for these two weeks.
If we find that there is a high enough demand for them we would then look to selling these cereal bars on a permanent basis.
Dinner Money
On occasions your child may come home with a note from the kitchen regarding a shortage of dinner money. We appreciate at times that this can be frustrating but obviously we can only respond to the money the children present. If they lose money before it is given to the cashier or any change afterwards, then we are not in a position to replace it or accept any responsibility.
Recycled Printer Ink Cartridges
We are still collecting any empty ink cartridges from all printers – if you have any at home please bring them into school – there is a collection box in the foyer.
Used Stamps
We are still collecting used postage stamps for St. Giles Hospice. Please send any used stamps into the school office.
Yours faithfully,
Miss H. McKay
Headteacher.
