Dear Parents,
Mobile Telephones
Children are not permitted to have mobile telephones with them in school. Please be aware that children with one will have it confiscated and put in a safe at main school. This must then be collected by an adult during office hours.
Parking on Cherry Orchard/Oakhurst junction.
Staffordshire Police have asked us to advise that there should be no parking, not even Blue Badge holders, at the Cherry Orchard – Oakhurst junction. They will be monitoring all parking and will issue penalty tickets if necessary.
‘Lichfield Mysteries’ – window display competition.
This year Key Stage 1 (Years 1 and 2) have entered a competition, run by the Lichfield Mysteries, to make a window display on the theme of ‘The Creation’. The display will be in the window of S & J Music/Redshaws in Bird Street from this weekend (20th June) and will remain there for one week. If you are passing please have a look at the children’s wonderful ‘creation’.
Fuse - The Event in a Tent
At Chadsmead Primary School, Lichfield on Thursday 18th June from 6.30 until 8.30 p.m. there will be a Rap Workshop with London based Rap artist Breis. The event is free and for all ages. Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult. If your child is interested in attending and you require more details please ring Lichfield Arts on

School Closed to Pupils – Monday 29th June 2009
A reminder that Monday 29th June is a staff training day therefore school will be closed to pupils.
If you wish to order a photograph please return the order envelope with cash or cheque (made payable to H. Tempest Ltd.) to your child’s class teacher before Monday 22nd June 2009 . Any orders after this date will have to be made with H. Tempest directly.
Open EveningPlease come and join us at the Open Evening on Thursday 9th July between 4.00 and 6.00 p.m. Please feel free to look around the whole school, not just your child’s class. It is a wonderful opportunity for you to see your child’s classroom for next year and celebrate their ‘STAR Week’ work from this term.
Recycled Printer Ink CartridgesWe are still collecting any empty ink cartridges from all printers – if you have any at home please bring them into school – there is a collection box in the foyer.
Used StampsWe are still collecting used postage stamps for St. Giles Hospice. Please send any used stamps into the school office.

Summer Fayre Donations - Non-Uniform Day

Summer Fayre Program Design Competition
Once again we have launched a competition to submit an A4 design that could be used on the programme we issue on entrance to our Summer Fayre (around our theme and stalls etc). A separate letter with full details has been distributed. The closing date for your entries is Friday 26th June, so get designing and we look forward to seeing your entries.
Summer Prize Draw
Each family will receive an allocation of raffle tickets for this years’ Summer Prize Draw which will be drawn at our Summer Fayre on Saturday 4th July 2009. This Prize Draw, along with the Summer Fayre, is the major fundraising event for the school. The money being raised will be used to buy valuable extra resources within school and a proportion has been pledged towards future playground equipment.

So, please help us to make the Prize Draw our most successful yet, by selling your tickets and indeed if you can sell more, please ask. Please return your ticket stubs and money plus any unsold intact tickets to school in the envelope provided by Wednesday 1st July please.
