School Gates

In the interests of safety could we again remind you that all pedestrians (pupils, parents and visitors) should enter the main school site via the pathway on Cherry Orchard.  Please do not use the entrance on Sturgeons Hill, there is no footpath and it is unsafe.

Coats!

Even when the weather is bright and warm when you bring your child to school please can you make sure that he/she brings a jacket to school.  The weather can change quickly and children may need one during the day.

Foundation Stage visit to Twycross Zoo
Thank you to parents/grandparents who accompanied us on this visit.  We had a lovely time despite the weather not being as kind to us as it could have been.

Open Evening

Please come and join us at the Open Evening tonight, Thursday 9th July, between 4.00 and 6.00 p.m.  Please feel free to look around the whole school, not just your child’s class.  It is a wonderful opportunity for you to see your child’s classroom for next year and celebrate their ‘STAR Week’ work from this term.

Water Bottles

All children should have a water bottle in school so that they can remain hydrated throughout the day.  New bottles of water can be purchased for 20p.  or a refillable sports bottle at a cost of £1.35.

Sports Day

A reminder that tomorrow, Friday 10th July, is our Key Stage 1 Sports Day beginning at 1.30 p.m. and Friday 17th July is our Key Stage 2 Sports Day again beginning at 1.30 p.m.  We look forward to seeing parents and grandparents at both events.

Year 6 Leavers Evening – Wednesday 15th July at 6.30 p.m.
We look forward to seeing Year 6 parents at this event.  Refreshments will be provided by the P.T.A.

Parents, carers and grandparents of our Year 6 pupils are invited to join us in St. Michael’s Church on Tuesday 14th July at 2.00 p.m. for our annual Leavers’ Service.

Annual Reports

Your child has now received their annual report. At the bottom of the report is an acknowledgement slip.  Please return this to school and include any comments about how reports may be improved in the future.  If there is anything in the report that you would like to discuss further with your child’s teacher please make an appointment to see them via the main school office.

Is your child moving to a new school?
Parents, over the summer holidays it’s a good time to help your child find the safest route to their new school, discuss using safe places to cross and walk the route with your child. For those not moving school – we are looking forward to seeing lots of you continuing to walk in September. Have a lovely break…   from Staffordshire Road Safety Education Team.

P.T.A. News

Summer Fayre Success.
Thank you to everyone who supported this event.

We’re sure you’ll all agree it was a fabulous Summer Fayre. Thanks to everyone who stepped in to run stalls and help us set up and clear up afterwards.  We reckon we’ve raised around £2600.  This is fantastic.  If you have any feedback positive/ neutral/ negative then please let us know so we can bear this in mind next time we organise a Fayre.

It’s been another very busy academic year for us.  We have a meeting on Monday 13th July 7:45-9pm in the Main School staffroom.  We will review the recent events including the fayre.  All welcome.

If you loved the Summer Fayre then preparations for the annual Christmas Fayre will begin in September.  Please consider getting involved.
