Dear Parents,
Children in Need fund raiser – Friday 20th November
To help raise money for this worthy cause, a ‘Penny Trail’ will be taking place on Friday 20th November. We realise that there are other events taking place in the coming weeks but any token gestures would be greatly appreciated. Please could children bring in any coins. Thank you for your support.
Please note the dates for the Nativity Services are as follows:
Foundation Nativity Service –
Wednesday 9th December at 1.45 p.m. and Friday 11th December at 9.30 a.m.

Key Stage 1 Nativity Service – There was an error on last weeks Family Letter. Please note correct dates.
Wednesday 9th December at 9.30 a.m. and Friday 11th December at 1.45 p.m.
There will be a collection at each service, proceeds will be sent to a charity. We would like to thank you for your continued support.
Non-Uniform Day tomorrow – Friday 13th November
Please support this P.T.A. organised event.
Working in partnership with Lichfield Methodist Church we are collecting shoeboxes, gifts to put into shoeboxes, or money for Operation Christmas Child. If you feel you can contribute in some way please send your donations to us. Please label boxes to indicate which age group and whether the gift is suitable for a boy or girl.
I do hope that you feel that you can help to make Christmas a little happier for children less fortunate than our own.
Class WorshipWe look forward to seeing Parents, Grandparents and Carers of children in Class 5PM at our Worship tomorrow at 2.30 p.m. the following week, Friday 20th November we hope to see Parents , Grandparents and Carers of children in Class 4B at their Worship again at 2.30 p.m.
School Band
Mr. Greenway is intending to commence School Band practices soon. If any parents have experience of conducting, running a band or playing an instrument and would like to help please contact him on 01543 510784.
Just a quick reminder about the children needing a coat in school. A number of children have not had coats with them this week. Now that the weather is colder and potentially wet they really need a named coat in school.
Recycled Printer Ink CartridgesWe are still collecting any empty ink cartridges from all printers – if you have any at home please bring them into school – there is a collection box in the foyer.
Anti-Bullying and Behaviour Meeting
- Thursday 19th November from 2.00 – 3.00 p.m. in the Annexe hall.
All parents are invited to see the work produced during National Anti-Bullying week and to discuss the behaviour and anti-bullying policies. A questionnaire asking for your feedback in regard to these policies will be presented along with some of the strategies we have put in place to encourage positive behaviour throughout school. Please come along and give us your views. Thursday 19th November from 2.00 – 3.00 p.m. in the Annexe hall.

PTA News
We currently need volunteers and also someone to co-ordinate the refreshments provided by the PTA at these functions. As co-ordinator you wouldn’t necessarily have to help out at all of them just ensure there are enough volunteers, typically two per worship etc. We currently need volunteers for refreshments for class worship on Friday 27th November at 2:30-3:30pm. Also for serving refreshments after the Foundation and KS1 Nativity services on Wednesday 9th December and Friday 11th December. |
PTA Secretary Needed : From 18th January 2010 The core PTA committee currently comprises of: At the next PTA Annual General Meeting (AGM), which will take place on Monday 18th January 2010, the post of secretary and treasurer are to be replaced. The PTA Secretary’s position will need to be filled, as Sue Davies will be standing down. If you are interested and want to know more information about what the role of PTA secretary involves then please speak to Sue or another member of the committee. PTA meeting are usually held once every half term, either on a Monday or Thursday night in school from 7:45-9pm. |
A reminder that it is non-uniform day tomorrow (Friday 13th November)
A “non-uniform day” has been arranged by the PTA for tomorrow, Friday 13th November. The children are able to come into school wearing their own clothes in exchange for the donation of an item which will be used as a tombola prize at the Christmas Fayre on Friday 4th December. All donations gratefully received.
In case you didn’t receive our letter, the suggested donations are also printed below. Please note that sensible clothing and footwear should be worn in school.

For the Christmas Fayre to be a success we need volunteers to come forward to help on the day, whether it be setting up between 3-6pm, helping on a stall/BBQ 6-8pm, or helping to tidy up afterwards 8-9pm. If you can help, even if just for an hour, then please let us know; drop us a note with your contact details or complete the ‘help slip’ on the Christmas Fayre letter and return it to school. Thanks.
And finally…Attention all concert goers!
Two of our school mums play in the Lichfield Sinfonia Orchestra and will be performing at the Orchestra’s concert at the Guildhall on Sunday 29th November. If you would like to attend & bring along one of these PTA newsletters, £1 of your ticket price will be donated to the school PTA.
