Operation Christmas Child

Working in partnership with Lichfield Methodist Church we are collecting shoeboxes, gifts to put into shoeboxes, or money for Operation Christmas Child.  If you feel you can contribute in some way please send your donations to us. Please label boxes to indicate which age group and whether the gift is suitable for a boy or girl.

Just a quick reminder about the children needing a coat in school.  A number of children have not had coats with them this week.  Now that the weather is colder and potentially wet they really need a named coat in school.

Recycled Printer Ink Cartridges

We are still collecting any empty ink cartridges from all printers – if you have any at home please bring them into school – there is a collection box in the foyer.

PTA News

PTA Refreshment Co-ordinator Needed & Volunteers
Members of the PTA and parent helpers currently provide the refreshments at school functions such as Class Worships, Christmas productions (nativities) and Easter productions.  As parents/carers we all appreciate the chance to have a chat and a cup of tea/coffee directly after these functions and it would be a shame if we were unable to continue to provide this facility.

We currently need volunteers and also someone to co-ordinate the refreshments provided by the PTA at these functions.  As co-ordinator you wouldn’t necessarily have to help out at all of them just ensure there are enough volunteers, typically two per worship etc.

We currently need volunteers for refreshments for class worship on Friday 27th November at 2:30-3:30pm.  Also for serving refreshments after the Foundation and KS1 Nativity services on Wednesday 9th December and Friday 11th December.
There is currently a sign up sheet for helping with refreshments in the office.  If you think you may be able to help then please ask to see the sign up sheet.  Any help would be much appreciated.

PTA Secretary Needed : From 18th January 2010

The core PTA committee currently comprises of:
Joint Chairs (Louise Hurcombe, Beth Hancox , Trudy Doe)
Joint Treasurers ( Cathy Cutting , Marie Stanton )
Secretary ( Sue Davies ).

At the next PTA Annual General Meeting (AGM), which will take place on Monday 18th January 2010, the post of secretary and treasurer are to be replaced.
The PTA would like to thank Alison Edwards for volunteering to replace Cathy and Marie in the role of PTA Treasurer.  We are confident that Alison will do a fantastic job.

The PTA Secretary’s position will need to be filled, as Sue Davies will be standing down. If you are interested and want to know more information about what the role of PTA secretary involves then please speak to Sue or another member of the committee.  PTA meeting are usually held once every half term, either on a Monday or Thursday night in school from 7:45-9pm.

A reminder that it is non-uniform day tomorrow (Friday 13th November)

A “non-uniform day” has been arranged by the PTA for tomorrow, Friday 13th November.  The children are able to come into school wearing their own clothes in exchange for the donation of an item which will be used as a tombola prize at the Christmas Fayre on Friday 4th December.  All donations gratefully received.

In case you didn’t receive our letter, the suggested donations are also printed below.  Please note that sensible clothing and footwear should be worn in school.

For the Christmas Fayre to be a success we need volunteers to come forward to help on the day, whether it be setting up between 3-6pm, helping on a stall/BBQ 6-8pm, or helping to tidy up afterwards 8-9pm.  If you can help, even if just for an hour, then please let us know; drop us a note with your contact details or complete the ‘help slip’ on the Christmas Fayre letter and return it to school.  Thanks.

And finally…Attention all concert goers!

Two of our school mums play in the Lichfield Sinfonia Orchestra and will be performing at the Orchestra’s concert at the Guildhall on Sunday 29th November. If you would like to attend & bring along one of these PTA newsletters, £1 of your ticket price will be donated to the school PTA.

Full details are shown on the poster in the PTA display cabinet near the school entrance.
