2010 Ofsted Report

Family Letter number 11

25th March 2010

Dear Parents,

School Worship and Ethos Committee
We would like to say a big thank you to Mrs. Ruth Tinsdeall for her commitment and support for the school as a co-opted representative parent on the Worship Committee.  Work commitments mean she is no longer able to continue with this position.

If you are interested in becoming a co-opted parent representative of the Worship Committee please contact the school office.  The committee meets once each half term at 3.30 p.m.   It meets to discuss and promote Acts of Collective Worship within school; our links with St. Michael’s Church, other churches and faith communities; ensure the broad traditions of Christian belief are integrated into school life and review policies allocated by the School Governing body.

Year 3 and 4 Easter Celebration –
Wednesday 24th March at 2.00 p.m. and Friday 26th March at 9.30 a.m.

Parents and carers are invited to come to school on Tuesday 30th March from 2.30 p.m.  This will give your child the opportunity to share their STAR Week work with you and to show you around their classroom.

Easter Holiday Reminder

The last day of term is Thursday 1st April; the children will finish at the normal time.  As Thursday 15th and Friday 16th April are staff training days school will be closed to pupils on these days.  Pupils will therefore return to school on Monday 19th April.

Absences

On occasions you may receive a printed letter asking the reasons for your child’s absence despite the fact that you may have already contacted us.  Please note that sometimes the computer optical mark reader does not pick up the marks made by the teachers on the absence forms.  This is merely a second check to ensure all reasons for absence are accurate, so we would be grateful if you would complete and return the letter as requested.

Class Photographs – Reception and Year 6

Reception Classes and Year 6 will be having group photographs taken on Tuesday 27th April 2010.

Year 6 Visit to the Science exhibition at Lichfield Heritage Centre.

This was a very enjoyable visit. We would like to thank the parents who volunteered to accompany us.  Their help was greatly appreciated.

Bringing Children to the Annexe before school

Please consider other road users when you bring your child to school and do not park your vehicle in a position that will block the cul-de-sac leading to the Annexe building or the gateway to the Annexe itself.  Access to the school site it required at all times should we require any emergency vehicles.

Parent Questionnaire
Before the end of term we will be sending out the parental questionnaire that was originally circulated in October.  As part of our Post Ofsted Action Plan, it was agreed to provide parents with a further opportunity to feed back on school development.  Can I encourage all parents to participate.  The information drawn from your responses will be used extensively by school as a measure of progress against parental judgements made in October, as an indicator for further areas of consideration and as part of the school self evaluation and update to HMI and Ofsted.  Many thanks in anticipation for your support with this.

P.T.A. Fund raising questionnaire
The P.T.A. would be grateful if any questionnaire not yet returned could be sent into school soon.
