Tuesday 30th March - Easter Service – Years 3 to 6.
Thanks to everyone who supported us at our Easter Service on Tuesday.  It was lovely to have parents with us.

Viewing ‘STAR Books’ – Tuesday 30th March
We were happy to see all those parents who came to view their child’s ‘STAR Book’.  It proved very popular.

Increase in the cost of School Lunch
A reminder that as of 19th April 2010 the cost of the children’s school lunch will be £2.10.

Year 3 and 4 Easter Performances –
Thank you too to everyone who has supported the Easter performances.  They have been thoroughly enjoyable and the children should be proud of their achievements.

School Band
If your child has been playing a musical instrument for 4 months or more and would be interested in joining our school band, please contact Mr. Greenway.  Rehearsals are on a Monday after school till 4.30 p.m.

Congratulations to our Achievement Award winners this week:

Gold - Harry Lakin, Kendall Chuck and Bilal Abidi.

Silver - Nicholas Baker, Connor Baikie, Ben Bourne, Bradley Hammond, Cyra Wigglesworth-Gallagher, Elizabeth Jenkins, Megan Bishop, Madeline Bennett and Zahra Rajaratnam.

Bronze - Joseph Poulton, Liliana Christophorou, William Stoumann and  Lewis McLaren.

School Car Park
It has come to our notice that a few parents are arriving at school just before the start and end of the school day to deliver or collect their children and using the school car park.  The frequency of staff and visitors arriving and leaving at these times poses a danger to children and this is why it is out of bounds.  Users of the car park do not expect to come across our pupils in this area.  Could we politely request that parents do not therefore park in the car park.  Many thanks for your support with this.

PTA  news

Chocolate Bingo
A very big thank you to everyone who helped at, or who came to support this year’s Chocolate Bingo. It was a great night and you raised a fantastic £550 towards the playground equipment & PA system fund.

Thanks again to everyone who donated eggs and a big thank you to the School Governors for donating the prizes for the raffle, including a fantastic fair-trade hamper.

Fundraising questionnaires
Thank you to everyone who has handed in a fundraising questionnaire. Congratulations to George Chapple who won the fundraising questionnaire draw & claimed his prize on Friday at the chocolate Bingo. We would also like to thank Miss McKay & Mrs Wallbank for donating the prize in recognition of Parents’ contributions to the school.

It’s not too late to hand in your questionnaires if you haven’t already done so. We are using these to plan future fundraising events so it’s the ideal time to make a request or to simply ‘have your say’. Please hand your completed forms into the School Reception as soon as possible.

Donation of £400 from National Grid.
We would like to thank National Grid for their recent donation of £400.  This donation took place through their 'matched giving' scheme, whereby they will match an amount raised at a fundraising event involving one of their employees.  Many large companies, particularly banks and utility companies offer such a scheme - if your employer does, please could you ask whether they would be willing to support us?  For further details contact Alison on alisonjedwards@hotmail.com

Many thanks & Happy Easter from all on the PTA.

Yours faithfully,

Mrs. J. Wallbank
Acting Headteacher.
