Dear Parents,

Welcome back.  I hope that you all had a restful Easter break and are all feeling ready for the Summer Term. 

Welcome
We are delighted to welcome Miss McKay back to school after her illness.
We are also pleased to welcome Mr. Hayward and Miss Worsley to our school staff.  They have now joined us and will be teaching in Year 3 and Reception.

School Closed – Local Elections
A reminder that school is closed on Monday 3rd May – Bank Holiday and school is also closed on Thursday 6th May as the building is being used for the Local Elections. 

Increase in the cost of School Lunch
A reminder that as of 19th April 2010 the cost of the children’s school lunch is £2.10.

Recorder Club – Year 4
Recorder club will resume for Year 4 children on Wednesday 28th April 2010.  If your child is interested in this club please see Mrs. Thomson.

Musical Instrument Demonstration Evening
– Wednesday 5th May – 6.00 p.m.

A musical instrument demonstration evening has been arranged for Wednesday May 5th at 6.00 p.m.  This is an opportunity for those children in years 3, 4 and 5, interested in playing a musical instrument from next September to come along with their parents and see what is on offer.  We look forward to seeing you.

Class Photographs – Reception and Year 6
Reception Classes and Year 6 will be having group photographs taken on Tuesday 27th April 2010.

M & M Theatre Company – Wizard of Oz.
Yesterday, 21st April we had a visit from M & M Theatre Company. They entertained us with a production of ‘Wizard of Oz’.  We are sure all of our children enjoyed this performance.

St. George’s Day - Friday 23rd April 2010
A reminder that to celebrate St. George’s Day tomorrow, Friday 23rd April 2010 there will be a special lunch served to children who wish to have one, at the normal price - £2.10.  We also invite the children to come to school dressed in Red and White items of clothing.  Contributions are not required for this event.

P.T.A. News
Thanks to everyone who completed and returned our fundraising questionnaire and special thanks to those who offered their help.  We will be discussing the results at our next meeting on Monday 26th April at 8.00 p.m. at the Duke of York (near Tesco) – everyone is welcome.  This meeting will be dedicated to planning future fundraising events, so if you want to get involved, or have any ideas for events, please come along.  If you are unable to attend but would like more information, please leave your contact details in the P.T.A tray in the school office and we will be in touch.
