Dear Parents,

HMI Monitoring Visit
Our HMI Monitoring Visit took place on Tuesday and we are now awaiting the monitoring letter which in normal circumstances is posted on the OFSTED website around six weeks after the visit.  Due to the delay in the formation of parliament this week there may be a delay in its publication.

Compost for our ‘Get set grow’ project

If anyone has any garden compost they could donate to school we would be very grateful.

Celebrate National Walk to School Week
(17th – 21st May 2010) with the Walking Bus!

On Friday 21st May come and try out the Walking Bus with your child for their first time and earn your child a house point!  Current passengers will also get a house point.

From the beginning of the Summer Term, Walking Bus passengers now receive a sticker every time they take part.  Get 12 stickers and they are awarded an achievement stamp towards their bronze, silver or gold Achievement Awards in school.

St. Michael’s Church – Saturday 22nd May 2010
Come and join the birthday Celebrations!  Pentecost is the Church’s Birthday!  Come to the party!  This is at St. Michael’s Church, Greenhill, on Saturday 22nd May 2010 between 5.00 and 7.00 p.m.  There will be games, food, activities, discovery…. Mobile Telephones

Children are not permitted to have mobile telephones with them in school.  If a child is found to have a mobile telephone on them, for security purposes it will be placed in the school safe at main school.  Parents may then collect it from Main School during office hours.

Mr. Ian Thompson - Former Governor of St. Michael’s
Some of you will be aware that Mr. Ian Thompson died recently; many of you will remember him serving as a Governor to our school for a number of years.  I am sure that those of you who knew Mr. Thompson would want to join us as a school in keeping his family in your thoughts at this time.

PTA news

TESCO Vouchers for School
The Tesco voucher scheme has now finished for this year and we will soon be counting them so can you check your bags & purses & send any vouchers you may have at home into school asap.

Ink Cartridges
Just a reminder that  if, whilst you are looking for vouchers at home, you come across any empty ink cartridges we are still collecting these too. We have raised a staggering £419 since September 2009 from the ink cartridge recycling scheme so please keep them coming.

Lichfield Sinfonia Concert
Sunday 16th May     

£1 will be donated to school P.T.A. funds for every green letter presented on the door at the concert performed by Lichfield’s Sinfonia orchestra. Full programme details can be seen on the poster displayed on the P.T.A. notice board near the school gates. Tickets (£6.50) can be reserved on 01543 264718 or can be bought on the door.

Wednesday 19th May- next children’s discos
You should have had a letter by now with all details on regarding the disco’s to be held next Wednesday 19th May. Any parent help as always will be greatly appreciated.

General PTA meeting (including planning for the Summer Fayre)
Our next PTA meeting will be held on 24th May. More details will follow but it will include planning for the summer fayre.

Plant & Produce stall
Finally, just a little reminder that we are still hoping to have a plant & produce stall at the Summer fayre so please keep planting those seeds for us & planning the jam making sessions!
