What School Council Did Last Term
(Spring Term 2009)
Last term the School Council focused on going green to help our school do its bit against global warming. As a result of this Y4 and Y5 council members visited a school in Heath Hayes who have succeeded in the same goal, and have won various eco awards. They will be reporting back during our next meeting.
Prior to that a member of the King Edward’s Community Partnership visited us and kindly gave us £250 to spend on our project. School Council had to bid for this and present their ideas in order to get this funding. Compost bins and caddies for classrooms have been ordered.
Finally, at the last meeting Y5 showed us the fantastic posters their year did on saving energy which were presented to the rest of the council. They have been put up in both Annexe and Main School so everyone can see their marvellous work. We hope to continue this project so our school can be more environmentally friendly. All School Council members are encouraging their class mates to be more eco-friendly by turning lights off when not needed.
School Council also looked at and discussed the school’s Anti-Bullying Policy. This will be discussed in classes and then council members will report back.
