THE SUMMER REPORT!!!!
By Cerys and Jade
This term we have visited a school called Gorsemoor Primary School in Heath Hayes, because it has won many awards for being an eco-friendly school. We have collected many ideas from this school such as…Eco Warriors a.k.a people who look after environment, compost bins, and tyre plant pots, recycle plastic bottles and many more. As some of you know we are trying to be come a more eco friendly school.
We have asked the P.T.A if they would kindly give us some money to buy equipment for litter pickers. This was presented during our last meeting, so we hope to have some positive news in the Autumn term. We have reported back to the PTA about the types of events we would like to see organised in school – we left them with quite a list.
After meeting with Mrs Brookes we have now formed a sub-committee to look at charities. After just one meeting they are already looking to organise a friendship day to raise money for a friendship bench. The friendship bench is where if you are upset or angry you can pick a friend and talk to them about their problem. The way we are hoping to raise money is to sell friendship bracelets and we will start a club that will make the bracelet so everyone will be able to make one.
We are also hoping to start a craft club: all over the school we will be knitting a blanket for St. Giles hospice, we have already started craft club in the annexe.
School Council would like to say goodbye and good luck to Year Six as they leave for high school. We would also like to say WELL DONE and THANK YOU to all of the school council reps for helping the school soooo much this year!!
Hope you all have a great summer make sure you have FUN don’t think about school clear it out of your mind just relax until you come back then the learning starts again!!
